Ethanol Performance in the News!
Seems like no matter where you look these days you see, read or hear about alternative fuels and this past weekend was no different.
I’ll admit, I’m a huge race fan…F1, NASCAR, SCCA, Champ Cars, IRL…and it was a great weekend for race fanatics like myself. In one day we had Formula 1 from Monaco, the Indy 500’s Spectacle and NASCAR’s longest race.
The one that got my attention this year was Indy…and not because of Danica or Marco mania. Why? Cause these wonderful vehicles that run over 220 mph used Blended Ethanol Fuel. Not the usual methanol fuel, made from natural gas, that’s been used in the past. And, in 2007, all IRL cars will be running 100% Ethanol.
So pooh to all those who won’t use ethanol cause they think it “doesn’t perform”. If it’s good enough for Penske, Ganassi, Rahal, Hornish, Castroneves, Andretti, Patrick, et al, it’s good enough for me. Oh and by the way, NASCAR’s having discussions now about using Blended Ethanol Fuels.
It’s good for the economy, it’s good for the environment, it’s good for farming, it’s good for your vehicle…
Have a great summer!
