Think Diesel is Stinky and Slow?

Think again, cause it was a biodiesel powered Audi R10 that swept away the win at this years running of the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race at the world famous track in Sebring, FL.  It is the first diesel powered car to win any major auto race.  And it used less fuel to do it and produced about half the noise of it’s gas slurping competitors.

And then the Audi R10 stole the show at the 24 Hours of LeMans in France.  So it’s no fluke, the diesel is faster, more efficient and quieter.  Now before you run out and try to buy one of these understand that it’s going be a while before this kind of vehicle is available in the U.S.  The Audi R10 produces 650 HP at only 5000 RPM while its gas powered competitors have to turn an ear splitting 10,000 - 12,000 RPM to produce that kind of power.

But the whole point of this short article is that the winning Audi is powered by ultra-low sulfur biodiesel.  While the ultra-low sulfur biodiesel is difficult to find right now, federal regulations require the fuel to be available nationwide October 1st.  And FUOSV will have that ultra-low sulfur biodiesel at the pumps ready for you to use.

Audi is slated to bring this new engine in an SUV to the U.S. in ‘08.  Unfortunately there’s no American diesel powered performance vehicle in the offing.  But think about this, instead of a new gas powered Z06 Corvette, how about a 650 HP biodiesel powered Corvette?  Anyone at GM listening?

While it’s going to take a while for the stigma of black cloud belching diesel power to go away the time is near when you can make a difference in your diesel powered vehicle’s performance and environmental impact.

And Farmers Union Oil of Southern Valley is leading the way by providing state of the art fuels for your on and off road vehicles.
